New journal: Kyngervi - Call for Submissions

Kyngervi, meaning ‘gender’ in Icelandic, is a new journal in Viking and Medieval Scandinavian Studies with a focus primarily on gender and queer studies, but also taking a broader consideration of studies of ‘the Other’ – we aim to bring the marginalized to the forefront. We therefore also center race, disability, human/animal studies, and other related themes. Kyngervi is double-blind peer reviewed, run by students, for students to showcase their work.

We are very excited to announce our first Call for Submissions. We are looking for relevant articles of 4000-6000 words, or reviews of up to 1500 words of relevant books published in the last five years. As an interdisciplinary journal, articles can be from any relevant field, including, but not limited to, History, Literature, Archaeology, History of Religion, Reception Studies, and Art History.

In order to submit, you must either currently be a student, or have graduated from your programme in the previous academic year. Students can be any level from BA to PhD.

The deadline for submissions is the 31st of January 2019, with a publication date of Summer 2019.
